Job summary

The YWCA of Cleveland is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Technician to keep residential properties, the admin office, and the Early Learning Center safe, welcoming, and well maintained. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to work orders, repair plumbing, lighting, doors, drywall, and painting, prepare units for new residents, inspect for safety, and coordinate with vendors.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires physical capability, reliability, and teamwork, with a pay range

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, building operations, apartment maintenance, or facilities experience.
• Experience in affordable housing, supportive housing, property management, or nonprofit settings is a plus.
• Trade training or technical certifications are helpful but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, kneeling, climbing.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine and preventive maintenance throughout residential properties and assigned facilities.
• Respond to work orders and complete repairs in a timely and professional way.
• Repair and maintain items such as plumbing fixtures, lighting, appliances, doors, locks, drywall, flooring, and other building needs.
• Prepare apartment units for new residents through painting, minor repairs, and turnover work.
• Inspect apartments, common areas, and building systems to identify safety concerns.
• Support emergency maintenance needs and after-hours situations when needed.
• Maintain tools, supplies, maintenance records, and repair documentation.
• Work with vendors and contractors to coordinate repairs and ensure quality work is completed.
• Partner with property management and supportive services teams to help create a positive living environment for residents.
