Job summary

Georgetown University seeks a skilled General Maintenance worker to perform building trades and keep university facilities in good repair. The role covers routine maintenance of structures and systems, answering service calls, and completing preventative maintenance tasks.

You will work under supervision in a central shop or zone team, using standard tools, and adhering to safety protocols. A high school diploma and a state driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience performing general building maintenance using electrical, plumbing, carpentry/lock, and basic HVAC maintenance skills.
• Completion of a training program in general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, lock and basic HVAC maintenance.
• Valid and current driver’s license from Maryland, Virginia or District of Columbia.

Responsibilities

• Performs general building trades work maintaining structures, systems and equipment.
• Responds to service calls and conducts routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
• Works under the supervision of a Zone Manager or Central Shop Supervisor with other trades.
• Follows safety rules and uses standard tools and equipment.
