Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and extensive preventive maintenance and repair on YMCA buildings, mechanical equipment and other property.

The role encompasses minor and major repairs across mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and painting, ensuring facilities are safe and functional. Applicants should meet GED/education requirements and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of maintenance/repair experience.
• Good skill in hand and power tools.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and maintenance.
• Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy.
• Able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to read and write simple instructions, memos.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.
• Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks; installs window blinds.
• Installs flooring of all types.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures including toilets, sinks, and urinals.
• Installs electrical wiring and equipment; replace and repair lighting fixtures and ballast.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
• Repairs plaster and drywall; interior and exterior painting.
• Upholds all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day.
