Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to manage daily operations and upkeep of buildings and grounds. You will supervise access, custodial, grounds, HVAC, and maintenance tasks and ensure security across facilities.

The role requires 2–3 years of maintenance experience, basic carpentry and MEP knowledge, and the ability to travel between sites while lifting heavy objects as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of maintenance and repair experience in facilities, building trades, or related fields.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Good hand and power tool skills.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; carpentry background.
• Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy; prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and supervises operation of the assigned facility (access, custodial, grounds, HVAC, maintenance and repair).
• Inspects facilities daily; troubleshoots and repairs building trades and MEP deficiencies.
• Oversees facility grounds, landscaping, and pool maintenance.
• Responds to emergency maintenance concerns as required and mitigates safety hazards.
• Consults with outside vendors for estimates and coordinates parts and repairs.
• Oversees quarterly and annual system inspections and ensures compliance with safety protocols.
