Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform daily inspections, execute preventive maintenance, and repair building systems across campus facilities. The role requires teamwork with other trades and proactive communication with customers and supervisors.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years’ experience in general maintenance.
OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health card within the probationary period.
Demonstrated competence in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/R during the probationary period.
May require a valid State of Ohio driver license.

Responsibilities

Perform daily building inspections.
Complete preventive maintenance and repairs.
Install and maintain building equipment and fixtures.
Respond to emergency maintenance situations.
Follow safety policies and procedures.
Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
Complete work orders and other required documentation.
Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
Operate a department vehicle.
Assist other trades and perform additional duties as assigned.
Participate in professional development, continuing education, and meetings.
