Job summary

Effinghamschools seeks a Maintenance Technician to repair and service buildings and grounds, including mechanical equipment and systems. You will perform minor to semi-complex mechanical, electrical, and building repairs, conduct inspections, and assist in parts replacement and ordering.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to completion of high school or higher; post-secondary certification preferred.
• General Maintenance training is preferred.
• Apprenticeship or formal training in the area of maintenance is expected.
• Current Georgia State Driver's License is required.
• 1–3 years of experience in facility maintenance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Performs building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance repairs as necessary.
• Implements preventative maintenance measures.
• Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Completes inspections of offices and clinical areas under supervision.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and facilities.
• Assists in maintaining safe and clean building and grounds; responds to emergencies per plan.
• General installation of pictures, office equipment and minor carpentry repairs.
• Performs other maintenance duties as requested.
