Job summary

The Greer Group is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Raleigh for a temporary-to-permanent full-time role. The position covers day-to-day maintenance, repair, and safe operation of hospice facilities and grounds.

You will perform routine and urgent maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain detailed logs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems. On-call rotation is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as backup to Facilities Manager and support continuity of operations.

Job description

The Greer Group is recruiting a Facilities Maintenance Technician for our client in Raleigh. This is a temporary to permanent position with full-time hours, Monday –Friday 8: 30 AM –5 PM! This position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and safe operation of hospice facilities and grounds.

• The Facilities Maintenance Technician works independently and with minimal supervision in a small team environment, responding to routine, preventative, and urgent maintenance needs across campus and branch locations.
• Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance of buildings, grounds, and systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, doors, and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues independently and determine appropriate solutions, including in-house repair or vendor coordination.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs for equipment and systems such as HVAC, generators, oxygen systems, life-safety systems, water heaters, and sewage pumping systems.
• Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify safety concerns, repair needs, and preventative maintenance opportunities.
• Respond to after-hours maintenance issues as part of an on-call rotation.
• Safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
• Perform basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs within scope of training and licensure.
• Coordinate specialized repairs with external contractors when needed.
• Assist with vendor oversight, scheduling, documentation, and compliance activities.
• Serve as a backup to the Facilities Manager as needed and support continuity of operations.
