Job summary

Half Price Auto Repair & Performance seeks a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support a growing Phoenix metro network. This hands-on role requires you to travel between locations with a company vehicle and gas card, performing repairs and upkeep while maintaining a clean and professional environment.

You should be a pragmatic problem solver, able to assess issues, acquire materials, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Previous facilities, property maintenance, construction, handyman or similar experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects with good communication.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools safely in Arizona conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building and facility repairs at multiple locations.
• Tile and grout repair and replacement.
• Interior and exterior painting and drywall patching.
• Basic plumbing, including toilets, faucets and leaks.
• Electrical and lighting repairs within safe limits.
• Maintain doors, shelving, fixtures and equipment.
• Preventative maintenance on swamp coolers and HVAC systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors when outside work is needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized and professional facility appearance.
• Purchase and transport maintenance materials as needed.
• Inspect locations for emerging maintenance concerns.

Facilities Maintenance Technician

Half Price Auto Repair & Performance is looking for a dependable, skilled, and self-motivatedFacilities Maintenance Technicianto help maintain our growing network of automotive repair facilities throughout the Phoenix metro area.

This is a hands‑on position for someone who knows how to fix things, takes pride in keeping properties clean and presentable, and can work independently without needing constant direction.

Our Facilities Maintenance Technician will travel between company locations using a company-provided vehicle and gas card, completing repairs, preventative maintenance, facility improvements, and general upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building and facility repairs at multiple locations
• Tile and grout repair and replacement
• Interior and exterior painting
• Drywall patching and minor repairs
• Basic plumbing repairs, including toilets, faucets, drains, fixtures, and minor leaks
• Perform basic electrical and lighting repairs within appropriate limits
• Maintain doors, locks, hardware, shelving, fixtures, and other facility equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on swamp coolers and HVAC equipment
• Replace filters, belts, cooler pads, pumps, thermostats, and other basic HVAC components
• Identify HVAC or facility problems requiring an outside licensed contractor
• Pressure wash and clean shop areas as needed
• Assist with maintaining clean, organized, and professional‑looking facilities
• Complete minor remodeling and improvement projects
• Help install signage, fixtures, equipment, shelving, and other shop improvements
• Purchase and transport necessary maintenance materials and supplies
• Inspect locations for developing maintenance concerns before they become larger problems
• Coordinate with store management to prioritize repair and maintenance needs
• Work with outside vendors and contractors when necessary
• Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicle, and maintenance supplies
• Respond to occasional urgent maintenance issues at company locations

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is aproblem solver.

The right person should be comfortable arriving at a location, assessing an issue, determining what is needed, purchasing the appropriate materials, and completing the repair without requiring constant supervision.

Ideal candidates will have experience with several of the following:

• Commercial or residential property maintenance
• Tile and grout
• Painting
• Drywall
• Basic plumbing
• Basic electrical
• HVAC and evaporative/swamp cooler maintenance
• Carpentry and general construction
• Facility cleaning and upkeep
• Preventative maintenance

You do not need to be a licensed contractor or master technician in every trade. However, you should have broad maintenance knowledge and understand when a repair is within your abilities and when a licensed professional should be called.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience

About the Position

This is not a position where you will spend every day doing the same thing.

One day may involve repairing tile or plumbing at one location, the next may involve servicing a swamp cooler, painting an office, installing shelving, pressure washing a shop, or identifying a problem that needs to be turned over to an outside contractor.

We need someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and likes being the person everyone can count on to get things handled.
