Job summary

HeartShare is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support daily upkeep of facilities in New York. Responsibilities include basic repairs (plumbing, carpentry, painting), door hardware, and light construction tasks, along with thorough cleaning and sanitation of all areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. The successful candidate will help maintain safe chemical storage, perform inspections, and respond to security needs as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Driver's license required.
• Experience in basic maintenance skills such as light plumbing, painting and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance duties including changing light bulbs, ceiling/floor tiles, fixing leaks, repairing doors and related hardware.
• Carry out cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, washing walls, vacuuming, floor stripping/buffing/waxing.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, ensure safe storage of chemicals, and assist with facility maintenance tasks as needed.
• Open/close facility, be on call for security and emergencies, assist in travel between Queens and Brooklyn sites as required.
