Job description

Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and coordinating repairs as needed.

Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree in Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • One (1) year of related experience.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including HVAC system checks, plumbing repairs, electrical maintenance, and general building repairs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs or coordinate repairs with external contractors as needed.
  • Maintain and repair building systems, including lighting, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from employees and address issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, and perform tasks in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture for events and meetings.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, inspections, and equipment manuals.
  • Collaborate with other members of the facilities team and provide support as needed.
Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies outside of regular business hours.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
  • Manual dexterity for handling small parts and components.
  • Comfort working in various weather conditions.
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
