Thea Bowman House seeks a Service Technician responsible for maintaining the integrity of facilities. You will perform preventative maintenance, handle repairs across various trades, and ensure safety standards are upheld.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1–3 years of facilities management experience and a HS Degree or GED. This position involves work hours from Sunday to Thursday and provides an hourly rate of $25.89 – $27.39 based on experience.
The Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition, safety, and operational integrity of facilities. This role performs routine and preventive maintenance, responds to work orders, and completes repairs across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry trades. The Technician ensures facilities remain safe, functional, and aligned with organizational standards.
Sunday – Thursday, 10:30 am – 7:00 pm (40 hours per week)
Hourly rate: $25.89 – $27.39, commensurate with experience
Works indoors and outdoors, driving to different locations, exposed to weather, traffic, hot/cold surfaces, moisture, dust, oils, fumes, and mechanical/electrical hazards. Works with cleaning agents; noise level loud when operating power tools.
Chief Building Engineer
Safety Sensitive; subject to drug testing; disqualification for presence of marijuana in test results.
Regular use of hands, fingers, arms; frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting. Stooping, squatting, crawling in confined spaces. Climb stairs, ladders, or small stools; lift and carry items typically weighing less than 40 lbs.
