The Orvis Company in Manchester, VT is hiring a Facilities & Manufacturing Associate to join the Rod Shop, crafting world-renowned fly rods and supporting daily facilities tasks.

You will work under the Facilities Manager with duties from housekeeping to rod-building support, and will enjoy a healthy work/life balance, sign-on bonus, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for advancement in a safe, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador of the Brand and embody the Orvis culture and its core values.
• Complete Facilities Tasks that include but not limited to: Housekeeping duties for offices and common areas; Cleaning and restocking restrooms; Mail and material pick ups; Replace HVAC filters, empty dust bins, monthly mail truck inspections, and perform other basic preventative maintenance tasks; Other facilities, housekeeping and support duties as assigned.
• Provide support as needed in the rod building process to complete the manufacturing of an Orvis Fly Rod which may include: Operating state-of-the-art rod manufacturing equipment; Cutting, cleaning, and painting rod sections; Assembling and installing reel seats and cork handles; Affixing guides to rod blanks; Inspecting work and ensuring quality control; Work to specification and meet daily production goals; Complete additional assignments from Rod Shop management.

Position Interface

• Experience in light manufacturing and/or the use of hand tools
