Job summary

Walmart is seeking a maintenance technician in Montgomery, IL to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment handling across facilities. You will manage work orders, schedules, and contractors, ensure safety compliance, and document activities.

The role involves operating heavy machinery and transporting equipment, coordinating parts orders, and upholding Walmart quality standards while supporting cost-efficient maintenance and a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines.
• Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
• Observes and documents signs of wear and tear.
• Gathers capital expense information.
• Recommends repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs.
• Determines replacement needs.
• Documents preventive maintenance activities.
• Uses heavy machinery.
• Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information.
• Conducts price comparison of parts and travel-related costs.
• Orders parts and replacement equipment and tracks orders.
• Records purchases and usage.
• Submits warranty claims.
• Complies with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines.
• Ensures quality work complies with regulations and Walmart standards.
