Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician D
Job Location: Herndon, VA 20171
Pay range: $35-40/hr. on W2
Job Description:
This position supports the Multiple Divisions SMS location, based out of Herndon,
Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilities maintenance
and operations supporting several suites within one facility.
Essential Functions:
- Performs basic maintenance activities such as, but not limited to changing, wall/door repairs, and service requests.
- Performs preventive maintenance and monthly safety inspections of assigned building, promptly reporting any maintenance issues to Facilities Manager.
- Supports conference room set-ups and teardowns.
- Supports Facilities moves, furniture installations, and reconfigurations.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Performs detailed and accurate record keeping.
- Promotes effective work practices, works as a team member, and shows respect for co-workers.
- Supports the overall goal of maintaining a neat, clean, and comfortable work
- Performs other duties as required.
- Follows Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- This will be a standard M-F, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with 1 hour lunch.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance.
- Must be a US citizen. Must provide proof of US Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Demonstrated customer service skills and team player
- Physical requirements include climbing ladders, extended seating or standing, or other physical efforts.
- Must have ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic mechanical or "handyman" aptitude.
- Physical requirements include climbing ladders, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts.
- Will need to work outside, inside, walking building and grounds. Exposure to exterior elements to include cold, wind, and heat.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Initiative and self-motivated.
- Proficiency in Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LO/TO) procedures
