Facilities Maintenance Technician

Salary

$22.00 - $35.00 / Hour

Summary

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a knack for troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment? As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our facility and machinery—including CNC and other industrial equipment—operate at peak performance. From preventative maintenance to emergency repairs, your expertise will help keep production running smoothly and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CNC machines, conveyors, hydraulic presses, and other production equipment.
  2. Develop and follow scheduled maintenance plans to minimize downtime and improve equipment lifespan.
  3. Ensure CNC and other precision equipment are properly calibrated and functioning at optimal efficiency.
  4. Maintain and repair building infrastructure, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to support production.
  5. Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimize disruptions in production.
  6. Document maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair logs for compliance and future reference.
  7. Assist in the installation, relocation, and upgrades of machines and facility components.
  8. Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards while working with industrial machinery and hazardous materials.
  9. Assist in diagnosing and resetting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) as needed.
  10. Track and manage spare parts and tools to ensure critical components are readily available.
  11. Identify which jobs are handled internally and which are contracted out for maximum efficiency.
  12. Proactively identify and anticipate maintenance needs and execute strategies to address any issues or needs.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  1. 2-year technical school degree, with 2+ years of proven industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.
  2. Strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  3. Experience with CNC machines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial automation systems.
  4. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Basic understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and electrical control systems (preferred).
  5. Welding and fabrication experience (a plus).
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  7. Certifications in industrial maintenance, HVAC, or electrical work are preferred but not required.
  8. Ability to shift priorities effectively.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
