Job summary

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Custodian I in our Facilities Maintenance Department. The role includes cleaning interior spaces across City buildings and the jail, performing light maintenance such as lighting and plumbing fixes, and operating cleaning equipment to keep floors and surfaces in top condition.

Hours are 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; some custodial or maintenance experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Cleans interior of City buildings and jail, including floors, bathrooms, offices, and jail cells.
• Performs general maintenance such as fixing lights and plumbing.
• Operates cleaning equipment like buffers and vacuums and uses cleaning chemicals.
• Maintains floors; cleans walls, windows, and furniture.
• Communicates with supervisor and the public to provide assistance.
