Aerotek is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Grand Rapids, MI. The role focuses on keeping building systems and equipment operating safely and efficiently within an industrial plant.

You’ll perform preventative maintenance, repairs, painting, flooring work, and basic construction tasks under supervision. The position emphasizes hands-on maintenance, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with a team in a production environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facilities maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Proficiency in painting tasks such as floor strips, guard rails, office space, hanging bulletin boards, and light bulbs.
• Experience in flooring installation.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• General labor and janitorial skills.
• Knowledge of wiring, service, and carpentry.

Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing building systems and equipment. Under direct supervision, the technician ensures the facility operates safely and efficiently by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and completing general construction tasks such as painting, flooring installation, and demolition within an industrial manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair building systems including lighting, power, ventilation, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and cleaning.

Work Environment

The technician will work on a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm, with volunteer opportunities over the weekend for painting tasks. This role is situated in a production manufacturing environment requiring personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes. The work is predominantly indoor and involves a fast-paced setting within the vibrations industry

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
