Job summary

Community Solutions for Children, Families, and Individuals is seeking a Facilities Assistant in Gilroy, CA for full-time, non-exempt work under the Facilities Manager. The role covers maintenance across agency buildings, grounds, and equipment at multiple Santa Clara County locations, with evening/weekend on-call rotation and driving between sites.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, 1 year of related experience, and basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 year of institutional or construction trades experience.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Experience operating power equipment and maintenance tools.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical and carpentry.
• Experience with standard safety practices.
• Able to bend/stretch/lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical maintenance.
• Repair and upkeep buildings, grounds and equipment for safety.
• Set up and take down for office moves and events.
• Respond to emergencies and address safety concerns promptly.
• Operate hand and power tools and handle cleaning products safely.
• Plan and organize work requests and coordinate with staff.
