Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
• Ability to follow instructions and to make independent decisions.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, staff, visitors, and the public.
• Able to seek new methods and incorporate them into maintenance practices.
• Strong problem-solving and numerical reasoning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe, clean, and functional state.
• Report accidents or incidents to supervisor immediately, even if minor.
• Coordinate daily maintenance with nursing services during routine tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Replace bulbs (exit/overhead/fluorescent) and perform cleaning duties as directed.
• Service heating and cooling units per manufacturer instructions and policies.
• Assist with lifting and moving heavy equipment as directed, and store equipment properly.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and report any suspicious disclosures.
