Job summary

Veterans of Foreign Wars seeks a Maintenance Worker I to perform intermediate maintenance on roadways, grounds, equipment and facilities. You will operate vehicles and equipment as required and learn MIOSHA safety rules to keep a hazard-free campus.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid Michigan driver's license, with a schedule that may include evenings and weekends. Prior maintenance experience is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of maintenance experience; two years elsewhere acceptable.
• Valid Michigan driver's license required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform regular physical tasks.
• Willing to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate level maintenance on roadways, grounds, equipment and facilities.
• Operate vehicles and equipment as required by the role.
• Learn and follow MIOSHA safety rules and regulations at all times.
• Maintain a hazard-free, safe campus environment and work site.
• Coordinate with Facilities Supervisor and Facilities Director as needed.
