Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge. This seasonal full-time role performs routine maintenance to ensure clean, safe, and well-operating facilities for guests and staff.

You will inspect, repair, and service buildings, grounds, and equipment, document work, and communicate status updates to team members. The position requires driving, lifting, and the ability to work as part of a crew.

A Maintenance Assistant performs a variety of tasks to ensure facilities are clean and in good operating condition. Routine general maintenance and repair of the buildings, grounds, and equipment is a contributing factor to the safety and satisfaction of both guests and employees. This job ensures that facilities are maintained at the company level standards and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Routinely performs maintenance inspections, checks, and daily rounds.
• Routinely performs a variety of entry-level maintenance tasks.
• Assists with preventive and corrective maintenance involving inspections and repairs.
• Observes operation of facility equipment updates logs in software applications, and other written maintenance and repair records.
• Communicates verbally via handheld radios and in person for repair calls, troubleshooting, and follow-up with employees and guests on repair status.
• Interacts with employees and guests including but not limited to answering questions and providing information about the local areas, hotel information, and general service interactions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum age of 18 years to operate service vehicles and maintenance equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License (not revoked or suspended) with fewer than three moving violations.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs./23kg.
• Must be willing to be part of our random alcohol and drug testing program.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princes's is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
