Job summary

Loos & Co. Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a Monday–Friday first shift in Connecticut.

The role handles maintenance and repair across carpentry, plumbing, painting, and groundskeeping, using standard tools and safety practices. The selected candidate will operate floor scrubbers, genie lifts, and forklifts, and complete work-order documentation. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work 18+ years old with

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance and maintenance task reports accurately and timely.

Pay Range: $20 - $28 hr

Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

• Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of the work area, using basic knowledge of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, and groundskeeping, and using standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities
• Demonstrates safety practices and procedures related to the building trades.
• Has a general responsibility to provide support and assistance to the other skilled crafts working on a project.
• Operates and runs company vehicles such as floor scrubbers, genie lifts, truck, and/or forklifts to perform a variety of tasks/duties
• Completes accurately and timely preventative maintenance and maintenance task report/requests.
• Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; operate a forklift; follow oral and/or written instructions; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; maintain work documentation.
• Able to read, understand and work from work orders, material lists, specs, inspection standards, inventory documentation, part numbering system.

Experience and Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma/G.E.D. Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be 18 years of age or over. Must comply with the company's Drug, Alcohol Abuse and Firearms Policy.

(With or without the aide of mechanical devices.)

• Able to walk and stand, on average 80% to 99% of the time on a concrete floor. Stand, walk and lift shipments on average 30 to 50 times per shift, lifting up to 50 pounds by hand. Able to handle and store reels weighing in excess of 60 pounds, with a forklift. Repetitive body movements in the movement of product/s. Proper body mechanics and lifting techniques, required.
• May be expected to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, holidays and on other shifts when necessary.
