Job summary

Carlisle Brake & Friction is seeking a Facilities and Machine Maintenance Technician to care for the Solon facility, buildings, and equipment, with technical work spanning HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and hydraulic systems. The role includes supporting the R&D labs and coordinating maintenance tasks to minimize disruption to daily activities.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, with an associate degree or electrician certification preferred, and be capable of reading schematics,

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, hydraulics or machine tool experience valued.
• Electrical and/or mechanical certs preferred; ability to read drawings/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Participate in troubleshooting facility and lab equipment breakdowns.
• Maintain facility HVAC, plumbing, water cooling and hydraulics systems.
• Schedule elevator, sprinkler, and overhead door inspections; manage maintenance vendors.
• Serve as primary contact for building fire/security monitoring and maintenance.
• Perform general maintenance (lighting, leaks, roof, waste paper, soaps, sanitizers).
• Coordinate maintenance to minimize disruption to R&D activities.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment; PPE required; light replenishment duties.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs; install new equipment; generate PO requests.
