Job summary

Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities & Security team in Portland, Oregon. This role maintains safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency across PPCW locations in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

You will manage a daily queue of requests, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to urgent issues, balancing planned work with unplanned tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail and effective communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of hands-on trades or maintenance experience.
• Experience using a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and respond to urgent requests.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe, high-quality work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and other departments.
• Flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts.
• Valid driver’s license and active insurance for work driving.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs across locations.
• Troubleshoot and complete light plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
• Repair or replace furniture, fixtures, and other components.
• Assist with diagnosing and repairing medical equipment.
• Complete preventive and scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Receive, prioritize, and track maintenance requests via the work-order system.
• Communicate progress and results to team leadership.
• Travel between PPCW locations to provide onsite facilities support.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
