Job summary

You will handle plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and minor HVAC tasks while ensuring safe, welcoming environments for neighbors, volunteers, and staff. You should bring hands-on building trades experience, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in facilities maintenance or related field; more is valued.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; ability to drive between locations.
• Ability to read blueprints and maintenance documents.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in building maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and attention to detail.
• Intermediate computer skills for work orders and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior and exterior building maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting).
• Address root causes to prevent repeat issues.
• Respond to routine and emergency maintenance across multiple facilities.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and identify safety concerns.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for timely, cost-effective projects.
• Maintain records of work orders and materials usage.
• Move and install furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and report hazards.
• Take ownership of work orders from start to finish.
• Provide thorough documentation and updates in work order systems.
