Job summary

Gildan in Martinsville, VA seeks a Tech Maintenance I for 1st shift. You will maintain, troubleshoot and repair plant assets using manuals and specs; ensure safe operation of conveyors and equipment; log data for maintenance reports; and support PM activities.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED, with maintenance certifications preferred. 1-2 years in industrial maintenance are welcomed; basic math and reading/writing skills are required; strong teamwork and safety focus are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional maintenance certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with basic hand tools required.
• 1-2 years' experience in an Industrial Maintenance field preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair assets as needed using operation manuals, drawings, manufacturers specifications and building codes.
• Ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment, including clearing faults and jams.
• Verify PMs and work orders, and log data for required reports relating to maintenance activities.
• Maintain conveyors, Automated Storage and Retrieval cranes, and the Automatic Sorter.
• Assist with PMs, repairs of dock doors, lighting, plumbing, and plant equipment as needed.
• Safely operate and maintain facility vehicles and participate in safety programs.
