Job summary

San Diego Youth Services seeks a skilled Maintenance Repair Worker to support its Facilities program in San Diego. This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Chief Program Officer and Facilities Manager and covers electrical, carpentry, plumbing, drywall, and related tasks across SDYS properties.

Ideal candidates have five years of hands-on repair experience, a valid license/transport tools, and the ability to work with vendors and staff in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in general repairs and building maintenance including electrical, carpentry, plumbing and drywall.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance, own transportation and tools.
• Flexibility to pass clearance checks and cooperate with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain repairs and maintenance of SDYS properties.
• Assist in developing and implementing a maintenance schedule.
• Advise staff on preventative maintenance and review bids from vendors.
• Supervise work of outside licensed contractors for contract compliance.
