Job summary

York County is seeking a full-time Maintenance Trades Worker to support construction, maintenance, and repair of county buildings and facilities. The role involves carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks, with opportunities to assist on major projects and to work from blueprints and plans.

Responsibilities include after-hours on-call rotation, preventive maintenance, and documentation of work orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus vocational coursework and 2–4 years’ increasingly skilled trades experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls after hours or on a rotating basis as part of an essential position.
• Assist skilled trades in carpentry including framing, trim, doors, roofing and painting.
• Perform semi-skilled electrical, plumbing and HVAC tasks including lighting, wiring, troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
• Repair plumbing components such as faucets and unclog drains.
• Read blueprints and lay out work; estimate time and materials for projects.
