Job summary

Exeter Job Corps Academy in Exeter, RI is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and ongoing maintenance of center facilities, grounds and systems including administration, cafeteria, recreation facility, and student dorms. The role pays $23.98/hr and follows a Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm schedule.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent (AA degree preferred) and at least 1 year of building maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
• 1 year building maintenance experience required.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, boilers and other building systems preferred.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 40 pounds and varied exertion.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance to facility and building systems.
• Research and recommend replacement equipment as needed.
• Oversee training activities of students in the maintenance area.
• Oversee activities and quality of outside contractors performing repairs and equipment replacement.
• Coordinate with the Facilities Maintenance vocational training program, if applicable.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
