Job summary

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) seeks a seasoned Supervisor of the Maintenance Unit to lead facility maintenance for TLC facilities, including the Inspection Facility. You will supervise staff, plan maintenance, and ensure systems run safely and efficiently.

Under the Chief of Facility Services, you will manage daily inspections, preventative maintenance, and coordination with vendors while upholding safety and reliability across TLC locations.

Qualifications

• Four years of recent full-time satisfactory experience as a construction laborer or in the construction, maintenance or repair of sewers, streets, highways or water supply systems, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or a satisfactory equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection of TLC facilities to determine problems and maintenance needs.
• Prepare weekly maintenance plans, review schedules and allocate work to staff.
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair for all building systems and equipment, including day-to-day supervision of staff.
• Inspect and maintain building systems and HVAC to ensure proper function.
• Monitor inventory of materials, tools and equipment.
• Oversee outside vendor work to ensure compliance with contracts and scope of work.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
• Review and update Track-It Requests for facility-related work.
• Supervise and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
