Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in North Arlington, NJ, is seeking a Facility Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team that maintains building systems and grounds at the campus.

You will mentor staff, plan schedules, and supervise contractors ensuring timely, safe upkeep of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire systems. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus two years of maintenance experience, familiarity with OSHA and local codes, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus two years in building maintenance.
• Experience with electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry is required or beneficial.
• OSHA knowledge and building/fire code familiarity are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate a team of facility maintenance technicians.
• Mentor, develop and motivate team members; manage personnel actions.
• Prepare schedules; assign repair and maintenance duties.
• Oversee vendors and staff performing maintenance tasks (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc).
• Ensure tasks are completed correctly and on time.
• Provide tools, supplies and skills to staff for duties.
• Monitor equipment use; ensure safety, cleanliness and operability.
• Maintain accurate time records and performance reviews.
• Ensure inspections for elevators, sprinklers and fire systems meet standards.
• Perform repairs and maintenance as needed to support staff.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and company policies.
