Job summary

The role includes on-call duties and collaboration with multiple city divisions to minimize disruptions. The position requires leadership experience, knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or vocational training in building maintenance related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the installation and maintenance of all types of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, and interior finish is required.
• One (1) year of experience in a leadership role that involved supervising, communicating work assignments to, training, and overseeing the performance of other employees is required.
• One of the following Industry-related licenses or certifications required: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing.
• Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Must pass a pre-employment screening, background check and employment eligibility verification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Fleet & Facilities Superintendent with daily building maintenance and custodial supervision.
• Hire, train, supervise, coach, mentor, evaluate, and schedule staff to ensure smooth department operation.
• Identify and correct building and equipment problems (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
• Manage service contracts, purchase orders, and invoices for facility expenditures.
• Coordinate with divisions, vendors, and the public to minimize disruptions to City activities.
• Support long-term planning and budgeting for facility maintenance or repair.
• Create and monitor maintenance schedules and records for all facilities.
• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and obtain bids for repairs.
• Respond to emergencies and on-call assignments as required.
