Job summary

State of Connecticut – DOT Bureau of Administration is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor 2 (General) for Region 1 in Newington. The role oversees facility maintenance across 125+ structures, ensuring life and fire safety codes are met while coordinating with the Plant Facilities Engineer 1 and district leadership.

The position requires supervising a diverse crew, scheduling work, developing cost estimates, and preparing progress reports.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings.
• Four (4) years of the General Experience must have included performing skilled tasks in either the maintenance and repair of buildings or the military experience referenced above.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a large crew (6 or more) of skilled trade workers and lower-level staff.
• Schedules, assigns, and reviews work; conducts performance evaluations; and maintains crew procedures.
• Oversees mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems and ensures compliance with safety codes.
• Prepares budgetary and project progress reports; researches cost estimates for maintenance and procurement; processes vendor payments.
