Job summary

The NYS Office of Children and Family Services seeks a skilled supervisor to oversee the operation and maintenance of the physical plant across small state facilities, off-site facilities, or community residences. You will supervise staff, plan and inspect building projects, and ensure safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include preparing plans, specifications, and estimates for alterations, supervising execution, and reporting maintenance needs.

Qualifications

Two years of second-level supervisory experience in maintenance and operation of a physical plant; building construction; AND/OR building renovation and/or repair projects.
This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.
NY HELPS program participation requires meeting open-competitive minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

Supervise the operation and maintenance of the physical plant of small state facilities, off-site facilities, or community residences.
Prepare detailed plans and specifications and estimates for small alteration and repair projects.
Supervise and inspect the execution of plans and instruct subordinates in general building construction and maintenance.
Prepare reports and identify mechanical and maintenance needs.
May also maintain roads, grounds, and related equipment.
