Job summary

NMS in Nome, AK is seeking a Maintenance Foreman to lead the in-house staff and contractors. This working, journeyman-level role provides daily direction, schedules, and supervision of maintenance tasks for Nome Public Schools.

The position requires HVAC/building automation experience, CMMS proficiency, strong communication, and a valid driver's license. Work is on-site with occasional coordination with external vendors and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Three years journeyman-level experience in a building trade.
• Experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• HVAC/building automation/DDC systems experience including boilers and refrigeration.
• Experience operating a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Proficient with common computer software and general IT literacy.
• Fluent in English with a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Directs, schedules, trains, and supervises the maintenance staff daily.
• Dispatches maintenance technicians daily.
• Oversees routine and emergency maintenance of district properties.
• Manages operating expenses and safety program for the maintenance team.
• Administers the CMMS with the facility manager.
• Oversees contract services (electrical, HVAC, building maintenance).
• Acts as alternate Facilities Manager when needed.
• Upholds integrity and company policies in all duties.
