Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Shop Supervisor to coordinate and supervise shop personnel responsible for trade-related and maintenance work across district facilities.

You will review work orders, manage budgets and safety, supervise contractors, ensure cost-effective materials, and provide training and administrative support. The role requires strong leadership, 3+ years supervisory experience, and a Colorado driver’s license; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 8 years journeyman or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience with strong communication skills.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, CMMS and EMPAC; bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; Colorado Driver’s License and insurability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and ensure maintenance work is planned, prioritized and scheduled.
• Inspect resources and monitor quality, operability and maintainability.
• Supervise and inspect contractors according to DPS standards and codes.
• Monitor materials and equipment orders to ensure cost effectiveness and timeliness.
• Define contract specifications and coordinate with other departments and shops.
• Ensure safe working conditions and report hazards; participate in budget processes.
• Provide administrative support and training to shop personnel; respond to emergencies 24/7.
