Job summary

Grace Adventures Ministries is seeking a Facilities and Maintenance team member to help care for our campuses in Mears and nearby White Cloud, MI. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, and keeping buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment safe and well‑maintained.

You will recruit, coordinate and oversee volunteers, lead projects with supervision, participate in seasonal changeovers and on‑call maintenance, and assist with snow removal as needed.

Qualifications

• Testimony and lifestyle consistent with Christian faith
• 2+ years experience in related facility maintenance field
• Willingness to work variable shifts and weekend/on-call as needed
• Ability to travel across multiple campuses

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform preventive maintenance and repairs across campuses, facilities, grounds, and equipment.
• Document service and repairs performed on sites and equipment.
• Coordinate and lead projects approved by supervisor.
• Schedule and implement seasonal changeovers.
• Assist in snow removal and maintain safety at sites.
• Recruit, coordinate, and oversee volunteers and work groups.
• Work a varying schedule including weekends and on-call periods.

Summary Of Position

To fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures Ministries and cast vision to others. This position will be part of the Facilities and Maintenance Team that demonstrates world-class excellence through their care of the campuses of the ministry. This includes helping maintain: buildings, grounds, activity sites, vehicles and equipment maintenance, snow removal, boats, roads and parking lots, septic and well.

General Responsibilities

• The primary role of this position is to plan and perform preventive maintenance and repairs over a wide variety of facilities, grounds, and equipment on the campuses of Grace Adventures Ministries.
• Documentation of service and repairs performed on sites, facilities, and equipment
• Coordinate and lead projects approved by supervisor
• Keep supervisor informed about your areas of responsibility
• Scheduling and implementation of seasonal changeovers
• Work requests –processed in a timely fashion
• Coordinate with the Program Department to meet the needs of activities sites and grounds
• Assist with snow removal for the Mears campuses as directed
• Keep interior and exterior of buildings in good condition, including preventive maintenance
• Assist in other areas as directed by supervisor
• Responsible to complete a personal inventory sheet annually
• Responsible to recruit, coordinate, and oversee volunteers and work groups as assigned by supervisor
• Will work a varying schedule that will include some weekends as well as be part of the Maintenance On Call schedule outside of normal working hours.
• Assist in keeping the maintenance complex clean, safe, and in an organized condition

• A working knowledge in the following areas: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, fleet maintenance, equipment operation, drywall, painting, grounds maintenance and irrigation.
• Knowledge of and desire to plan and execute preventive maintenance
• Ability to plan for and direct volunteers and staff

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years experience in related field(s)

• Be flexible to change as the greater need of the ministry and fulfillment of the mission statement requires
• Have physical ability to travel and implement various physical work related activities over 378 acres encompassing 3 separate campuses in Mears and an additional 141 acre campus near White Cloud, MI. At times lifting and carrying is part of the job.
