Job summary

DHL Express is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist for the Erlanger, Kentucky hub. The role oversees preventive maintenance and repair of facilities equipment and requires reading electrical schematics for troubleshooting.

A certificate in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical or Automated Controls is required and Microsoft Office skills are expected. Candidate will use testing equipment, work with HMI/GDU applications, and operate forklifts and lifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate in an Industrial Maintenance, Electrical or Automated Controls Specialty is required or an equivalent documented training.
• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical power sources and their characteristics.
• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical safety devices and proper grounding techniques.
• Working knowledge of high speed doors, HVAC systems, boilers, high/low voltage systems, fire protection systems and hardware, control circuits, plumbing hardware, etc… is a plus

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend electrical schematics and diagrams for troubleshooting.
• Use hand tools and electrical testing equipment including voltmeters, amp probes, megger, and computers in daily duties.
• Work with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Graphical Display Units (GDU) applications.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, snorkel/boom lifts, pallet jacks, and small conveyance vehicles.
• Follow safety and lockout/tagout procedures.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist, based out of our Hub in Erlanger, Kentucky.

Summary

This position is responsible for the oversight, preventive maintenance and repair of associated facilities based equipment.

Tasks & Accountabilities

• Must be proficient in reading and comprehending electrical schematics and diagrams for troubleshooting electrical systems
• Will utilize hand tools, electrical testing equipment including voltmeters, amp probes, meggers, and computers in the performance of daily duties
• Working knowledge relating to the daily use of Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Graphical Display Units (GDU) applications
• This position requires excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
• Detailed working knowledge of Daisy-Chain Systems, Various job related PLCs, Radio Communication equipment, etc.
• Required to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, snorkel/boom lifts, pallet jacks, and small conveyance vehicles. Cannot have a fear of heights or elevated structures
• Must have adequate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Must be a self-starter with limited need for direct oversight to accomplish assigned tasks

• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical safety devices (such as switches, fuses, and breakers) and proper grounding techniques
• Working knowledge of high speed doors, HVAC systems, boilers, high and low voltage systems, fire protection systems and hardware, control circuits, plumbing hardware, etc… is a plus

Physical / Personal Requirements

• Will be required to understand purpose of, and application to wear, Personal Protective Equipment (including arc flash protection gear), and follow rules and regulations related to a detailed lockout/tagout (LOTO) program
• Will be required to wear safety toe boots at all times
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, frequently at times
• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs regularly
• Must be able to work in hot and cold environments to include inclement weather
• Must be able to stand for long durations
• Required to supply a small pre-determined list of personal hand tools.More specific tools are provided
