Job summary

County of Sandoval is seeking a facilities maintenance worker to perform routine preventive and general maintenance of buildings, systems, and equipment in the assigned area of responsibility, ensuring safety and functionality of the facility.

Responsibilities include maintenance on electrical, plumbing, grounds, carpentry, locksmith, custodial and HVAC, operating tools, keeping buildings safe and clean, responding to emergency requests, landscape and snow removal as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year of facilities, building or grounds maintenance experience with knowledge of and use of various hand tools and equipment.
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license.
• Must pass a criminal background investigation, drug and alcohol screening, pre-employment physical.
• Willingness to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and general maintenance on buildings, systems and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, grounds, carpentry, locksmith, custodial and HVAC.
• Operate a variety of equipment and tools associated with work assignments.
• Ensure buildings and grounds are safe and free from trash and debris.
• Respond to emergency calls, memos, and other requests for corrective and preventative maintenance.
• Perform landscape and grounds maintenance, including irrigation system maintenance, weed removal, and snow removal as needed.
• Install and maintain electrical components such as motors, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, switches and generators.
• Operate County vehicles as necessary to reach remote or local facilities and to transport equipment and supplies.
