Job description

Facilities & Maintenance Specialist

The Opportunity Alliance is looking to fill the Facilities and Maintenance Specialist position within our operations department.

The Facilities and Maintenance Specialist participates in the implementation, development, and administration of programs that maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment in accordance with regulations and administrative guidelines.

The Facilities and Maintenance Specialist will also manage plant operations while monitoring and aiding in the construction, renovation, and repairs of buildings, equipment, and contents. This role is essential in maintaining the quality, compliance, and safety of all agency facilities.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Location: On-site in South Portland, ME

Qualifications:

  • An associate’s degree preferably in Engineering, Construction Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field, along with two years of practical experience, or a High School Diploma with five years of practical experience.
  • One to three years of experience with maintenance and custodial departments preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check, child protective service check, and sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including shoveling snow, lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Driving may be necessary for meetings, trainings, and offsite client meetings. A good driving record is required.
