Job summary

Family & Children’s Center in La Crosse, WI is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Specialist to support FCC facilities, grounds, and equipment across Wisconsin and Minnesota. You''ll work hands-on across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and minor construction.

Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, you will perform routine maintenance, respond to needs, operate tools safely, and assist with larger projects with contractors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and automotive maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets, internet).
  • Ability to safely and effectively use common trade tools.
  • Valid driver''s license and ability to meet FCC''s auto insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and minor construction projects within your training and capabilities.
  • Complete drywall installation and repairs; paint and touch up interior and exterior areas as needed.
  • Perform minor electrical, HVAC, and plumbing work.
  • Safely use common hand tools, power tools, and trade equipment.
  • Move, relocate, and set up furniture and equipment as needed; assist with facility setup.

The ability to climb ladders at reasonable heights and lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds above your head is required.
