Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures safe, healthy facilities that meet all local, state and federal regulations, and meet all ADA, OSHA and Head Start Performance Standards
  • Responsible for understanding the interface DCA, DCF, COA, OOL and local/state regulations.
  • Oversees CFS Maintenance Work Order requests and response measures.
  • Trains and orients new field technicians to their sites and job responsibilities.
  • Ensures that safety best practices are employed and followed by field staff.
  • Ensures the proper maintenance and inventory of OPS Department equipment.
  • Completes minor facility repairs in‑house as practical and/or indicated.
  • Directs multi‑staff agency projects concerning new start‑up, special requests and deferred maintenance as directed by Facilities Director or Sr. VP of Operations.
  • Coordinates Vendors and Contractors acting as a liaison for the Facilities Director to ensure performance and contractual expectations are met.
  • Conducts regular routine facility inspections and audits to ensure issues are identified early and remediated expediently. Maintains such documentation in orderly fashion.
  • Oversees and executes the logistics processes of the organization in providing support to departments and programs as necessary.
  • Coordinates the movement of agency equipment and resource redistribution across sites.
  • Assists with the opening and closing of sites.
  • Schedules meetings with program staff to discuss plans, address areas of potential problems and program functioning.
  • Provides leadership to staff, and promotes a sense of agency with co‑workers and staff, and communicates in ways that support agency mission and values.
  • Reviews progress in professional development and growth objectives periodically with supervisor.
  • Conducts self as a role model in interactions with staff, colleagues and funding sources in accordance with Center For Family Services' Code of Ethics.
  • Develops and promotes relationships with other social service agencies and represents the program and agency in the community.
  • Oversees the day to day facility operations work order response across the agency.
  • Is knowledgeable of the security and system codes and equipment for all CFS sites.
  • Assists in the coordination of contracted facility vendors e.g., Janitorial, Fire Safety, Premise Security, Landscaping, Snow Removal etc.
  • Interacts with Site Supervisors to ensure that all OOL, Building Fire Codes, and CFS building protocols are being satisfactorily followed.
  • Ensures that all municipal certifications and relative licenses are up to date, posted appropriately and filed in a meaningful and organized fashion for quick reference.
  • Trains staff on life safety issues and work order processes for efficient resolution of issues.
  • Assists in developing program policies and procedures related to optimum operations. Cost estimates materials, services, and special projects as needed.
  • Assists in the response as necessary to after‑hours emergencies and /or security events.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 4+ years experience working in building trades and/or maintenance
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Maintains First Aid and CPR certifications, as required by funder and licensing agent for specific programs pertinent to this position
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License in the state of his/her residence if job is classified as Occasional or Essential driving
  • Must have and maintain automobile insurance if driving a personal vehicle
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Ability to monitor and manage CFS Operations Work Order System and all relevant facilities documentation.
  • Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow‑through.
  • Must be able to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in the prioritizing of workload of field staff.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and instructions orally and in writing.
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical operations and use them to calculate figures such as percentages and means for the analysis of reports.
  • Ability to listen to and respect others and to embrace diversity in all others: shows cultural awareness and has a highly functional understanding of and appreciation for developing and accessing culturally responsive services and supports for individuals and families.
  • Ability to carry out written and oral directions.
  • Negotiates, persuades, and modifies opinion in order to reach the goals/objectives of Center For Family Services.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and responds to email in a professional manner.
Work Environment
  • Must be able to lift / carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours.
  • Must be able to travel to different Center For Family Services' building sites.
  • Must be able to climb at least three flights of stairs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions including heat, snow, rain and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
