Job summary

SP+ Portland is seeking a facility maintenance assistant to perform cleaning, repair and customer-facing duties across the garage and office areas. You will follow checklists, operate sweeping and scrubbing equipment, replace bulbs and report maintenance needs.

Previous experience is preferred but not required in all positions; candidates must maintain a neat appearance and work under supervision, supporting safety and cleanliness standards for a busy facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks per checklists to keep all areas free of dirt, dust and debris.
• Walk garage daily to note and correct maintenance problems.
• Sweep and clean entrances, exits, rails, offices and restrooms.
• Replace burned out bulbs and apply oil absorbent to spills.
• Submit repair requests and check safety items like gate arms.
• Provide ticket and record gate counters to the Manager.
• Maintain janitorial supplies inventory and garage/lot sweep sheet.
• Operate maintenance equipment such as sweepers, scrubbers and lawn equipment as applicable.
• Shovel or blow snow from entrances and ramps as directed.
• Assist customers and resolve complaints with supervision as needed.
• Maintain neat appearance and be in uniform during shifts.
