Job summary

The City and County of San Francisco is seeking a Maintenance Planner to evaluate and schedule facility and infrastructure maintenance projects across public buildings and rights of way.

Under direction, you will plan preventive maintenance, prepare cost estimates, and develop procedures to keep systems running efficiently. You may supervise estimators, schedulers, and clerical staff and maintain maintenance history records for performance analysis.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of verifiable experience in one of the following areas: a) maintenance estimator/scheduler in facilities, b) maintenance planner for construction or facilities maintenance, c) supervisor of journey level workers in construction or facilities maintenance (OR)

Responsibilities

• Investigate and evaluate departmental requests for maintenance and repair.
• Prepare cost estimates and maintain a list of materials and labor costs for recurring jobs.
• Plan maintenance and repair schedules for routine and preventive maintenance; develop new procedures as needed.
• Report difficult maintenance situations to the supervisor and recommend action.
• Prepare statistical reports on all maintenance and repair activities.
• May supervise estimators, schedulers and clerical staff by planning and directing work assignments.
• Maintain and evaluate maintenance history records for equipment and system performance.
• Perform other related duties as required.
