Job summary

City and County of San Francisco is seeking a Maintenance Planner to evaluate and schedule facility and infrastructure maintenance and repair projects across public buildings, industrial facilities and public rights of way to achieve optimum efficiency of manpower, time, equipment and material.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of verifiable experience in maintenance estimator/scheduler or equivalent in facilities maintenance
• Four (4) years of verifiable journey level experience in construction or facilities/equipment maintenance
• Completion of a minimum four (4) year Building and Trades certified apprenticeship program AND two (2) years journey level experience

Responsibilities

• Investigate and evaluate departmental requests for maintenance and repair, including on-site inspections of machinery and structures
• Prepare cost estimates for maintenance activities and maintain material/labor costs for recurring jobs
• Plan maintenance schedules for routine and preventive maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operation
• Report difficult maintenance situations and recommend a course of action
• Prepare statistical reports on maintenance activities
• May supervise estimators, schedulers and clerical staff
• Maintain and evaluate maintenance history records and assess equipment performance
