A Day in the Life

As a Facilities Maintenance Planner/Scheduler at our site in Danvers, MA, you will play a key role in standardizing maintenance practices for corporate facilities within the northeast region. You’ll be part of a team that values inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  1. With direction from Facilities Supervisor/Manager, plan, develop, and maintain maintenance schedules for predictive, preventive, corrective/reactive, and emergency maintenance.
  2. Assign work orders to technicians based on schedule, priority, operational requirements, time to complete, technician/vendor availability, and other factors.
  3. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal technicians to schedule repairs and maintenance.
  4. Work with site/manufacturing/operations leadership to plan and schedule equipment/facilities downtime as needed for maintenance to enable maximum equipment availability.
  5. Coordinate submission of forms/notices to internal stakeholders (e.g., IT Request for Change, EHS, Quality) as required to perform work.
  6. Maintain and administer the CMMS system, ensuring asset data, PM schedules, and other critical information are accurate and up to date.
  7. Ensure full utilization of the CMMS system’s capabilities.
  8. Analyze data and generate reports to monitor maintenance KPIs and the effectiveness of maintenance programs.
  9. Identify process improvements and opportunities for increased efficiency in maintenance activities.
  10. Review work request/work order scope for completeness and follow up as needed to ensure clarity.
  11. Ensure work orders are fully documented, including As Found conditions, work performed, and As Left conditions.
  12. Support the deployment of Medtronic’s Maintenance Excellence strategy by participating in initiatives, kaizen events, and providing data/reports as needed.
  13. Ensure adherence to safety standards, facility protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  14. Provide training and support for CMMS for new hires.
  15. Support quality audits related to CMMS/Maintenance data.
  16. Provide feedback to site leadership and technicians to support spare parts inventory accuracy.
Must Have – Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience in facilities services operations or similar, or
  • Associate’s degree with 2+ years of experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year of experience.
Nice to Have - Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Blue Mountain RAM).
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, SOPs, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, aerospace.
  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO, FDA, or EHS environments.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, cleanrooms, building automation, or utility systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and propose improvements.
  • Experience with CMMS configuration or planner certification (e.g., SMRP, SAP PM).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for teamwork, equity, and results-driven work.

Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. Salary ranges for U.S. locations (excluding PR): $71,200 - $106,800. Eligibility for incentives and additional benefits varies by employment status and location.
