Job summary
Arizona State University’s Facilities Development and Management (FDM) is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic to perform essential electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC tasks in residence halls. The role is based at the Tempe campus with potential assignments to other campus locations as needed.
The position is full-time, non-exempt, requires a high school diploma and two years of related maintenance experience, strong communication, safety awareness, and the ability to lift up to 50
Qualifications
- Two years general maintenance and repair experience or equivalent
- Effective communication skills required
- Experience with work order systems and locks/doors is preferred
- Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and swimming pool maintenance helpful
Responsibilities
- Electrical maintenance including lighting, ballasts, switches and outlets
- Plumbing maintenance for restrooms, kitchens and fixtures
- Carpentry maintenance including doors, flooring and ceiling tiles
- HVAC maintenance including filters, coils and thermostats
- Provide first response to elevator issues and perform basic troubleshooting
- Maintain daily logs and interact with customers and students
- Work as part of a team to meet goals
