Job summary

Atlanta Public Schools seeks a Site Manager to ensure safe, clean, well-maintained facilities across sites. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and coordinating custodial staff to support instructional spaces.

Must have a high school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred), a Georgia driver's license, and 1 year related experience. Strong communication, leadership, and training abilities are required. On-site work with varied duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
• Valid Georgia driver's license; must comply with Transportation Regulation EDC‑R.
• 1 year related work experience.
• Strong written and oral communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to train others and oversee maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Performs painting, window repair, and general preventative maintenance for HVAC units including filters and vents.
• Performs daily inspections of facilities, equipment, lawn, and grounds to verify conditions.
• Inspects fire extinguishers and alarms; ensures safety features are operational; checks for vandalism or break-ins.
• Takes immediate steps to reduce navigate impact.
• Performs carpentry duties such as repairing walls, doors, trim, tables, lockers, gates, locks and fences.
• Maintains door closures, locks and hardware.
• Prepares work orders, conducts inventory, and identifies equipment and supply needs.
• Ensures timely reporting and pickup of debris and surplus equipment.
• Arranges for extra reuse pickups and/or dumpsters as needed.
• Coordinates and oversees custodial staff work; reports to Supervisor.
• Performs emergency/minor cleaning and maintains facility cleanliness.
• Reports any deficiencies to Supervisor.
• Completes minor repairs to brick, block, ceramic tile, concrete walkways or asphalt.
• Requires prompt, regular attendance on-site during business hours.
• Performs other duties as assigned by administration.
