Job summary

The Facilities Maintenance Lead at Moffitt Cancer Center specializes in complex facility systems and building equipment. You will assist the Supervisor Facilities Maintenance with monitoring production, planning, coordinating, training, and inspecting the work of staff, and help locate parts for ordering.

You will perform quality assurance checks, support project coordination, and occasionally cover shifts while providing input into staff evaluation and development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License required; must obtain Florida license within 6 months of employment.
• Minimum of five (5) years of verified experience in a Facilities Operations/Maintenance role in a hospital/healthcare environment, or
• Certified completion of a Vocational Technical program and/or apprenticeship in one of the building trades (e.g., Carpenter, Electrical, HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Plant Operator) and a minimum of three (3) years of hospital/healthcare facilities experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Facilities Shift Supervisor with monitoring, production, planning, coordinating, training, and inspecting the work performed by staff.
• Perform quality assurance checks on work performed by staff and contractors.
• Identify and locate appropriate parts for the supervisor to order.
• Perform and/or direct prescribed preventive maintenance on facilities‑related systems or building components or maintenance activities as assigned.

Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Lead is a trade‑specific expert related to complex facility systems and building equipment. This position assists the Supervisor Facilities Maintenance with monitoring production, planning, coordinating, training, and inspecting the work of staff. The Lead also identifies and locates appropriate parts for the Supervisor to order, performs quality assurance checks, and helps coordinate and facilitate projects. Occasionally the Lead covers shifts and provides input to the Supervisor in the evaluation and assessment of staff.
