Job summary

The YMCA of the Northern Sky in Fargo is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to lead daily facility operations, maintenance, and safety initiatives. You will oversee maintenance technicians, manage work orders, and ensure all equipment and systems are safe, functional, and efficient.

Under the VP of Buildings & Grounds, you’ll implement preventative maintenance, monitor budgets, and coordinate with contractors while promoting OSHA-aligned practices and a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Two years of related maintenance, or facilities experience
• Within one year obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations, maintenance, and preventative maintenance of YMCA facilities
• Assigns, prioritizes, and monitors maintenance work orders
• Responds to maintenance requests with department directors
• Inspects facilities, equipment, and building systems for maintenance needs and safety
• Evaluates equipment conditions including floor care, pool pumps, boilers, and life-safety systems
• Reports repair needs and improvements to VP of Buildings & Grounds
• Performs routine maintenance and hands-on duties as needed
• Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies within budget
• Coordinates with contractors and vendors
• Supports facility projects and safety initiatives
• Ensures compliance with OSHA standards and SDS requirements
• Monitors fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems and coordinates inspections
• Trains staff on OSHA, SDS, fire safety, and related practices
• Promotes a safe work environment and addresses hazards promptly
